Headphones can be a source of aggravation or a source of great satisfaction depending on your choice of product. And the smaller they are, often the less bass available, or they sound too 'toppy' - but that's not the case with the se Meze 'Neo' headphones. These very modern designed headphones offer an incredible breakthrough in design and technology that you can literally hear when you use them each and every single day.

While these headphones are 'Made in China' they are far from the quality usually associated with some products from the far east. But remember this, even Apple have their products made in China and you don't see any issues with their products - and it's exactly the same with Meze headphones. Meze have been around for years, and their original 'concept' was to utilize the very best technology with inclusion of wood to make the sounds warmer... a great idea and one that Meze have stayed with throughout. High quality technologically superior design and manufacture.

As you can see from the above image explosion Meze headphones use quite incredible designs with the specifications to match - see below:

  • Frequency response: 16Hz - 24KHz
  • Impedance: 16Ohm
  • Sensitivity: 101dB (+/- 3db)
  • Total harmonic distortion: < 0.5%
  • Noise attenuation: up to 26dB
  • Titanium coated 8mm Mylar driver
  • 3.5mm gold-plated jack plug
  • 7N OFC cable, length: 1.2m

The titanium coated Mylar driver ensures that you will hear what's actually in the music and bearing in mind that the frequency response stated above is actually higher than many studio quality headphones it goes to show exactly why the Meze Neo really is as good as I have said. I have also tried other Meze headphones in the past and frankly they 'eat' all the other stuff that I have owned including a set of in ear 'Bose' headphones that I bought.

Other features include the use of 7N oxygen free copper wire with quality switches, microphones and connectors. Mine have never missed a beat since I have had them.

As you can see the titanium coated Mylar driver is a piece of art in itself. Very accurately made to generate incredible musical qualities not found in most headphones - at any price! The 3.5mm connector and switch is compatible with all types of audio products.

Notice how in the above image that each part is exquisitely crafted to perfection - and that level of quality runs right through the whole range of products not just in the Neo headphones.

The Neo headphones include four sets of  silicone ear tips so that if you wear headphones for extended periods as I sometimes do then they are as comfortable as they can possibly be without causing ear ache or extended use problems.

Meze Neo are headphones that I have used for some extended periods and I still have a set that are made of wood and highlight the wood in the design - very nice indeed. They have remained my 'go-to' headphones because they don't hurt my ears (I had other far more expensive headphones that did and were disappointing) and they are price friendly for sure. You can buy Meze Neo's for under $60 (£50.00) or even less maybe. Meze also make some very high class regular headphones with wood inclusions also that offer a warm sound that does not really tire your ears as some headphones can.

I personally rate the Meze stuff at a 10 out of 10 as they honestly can't be faulted and can withstand everything I throw at them. Great headphones for sure.

Meze have a website here: where you can check out their other headphones.
