How to use multi speaker cabinets with a Mesa Boogie Road King
The Road King II and setting it up with multiple speaker cabs
One of the best features of the road king II amp is the ability to use two separate sets of speaker cab setup and simply switch between those cabs as you change channel. This is pretty much a unique feature that I have never seen on any other amp and what's more you can do it for any channel on the amp regardless if you are driving the full 100 watts output.
By using the two outputs as set up for different speaker cabs you can get Marshall type sounds or Mesa type sounds (you know what I mean) even apply different tubes to different channels. Just think EL34 goes out on a channel to a Marshall cab with the Celestions in there. And the other out uses 6L6 on the channel chosen and goes out to a Mesa Boogie cab.
There is no doubt that the thought behind this amp by Mesa Boogie was genius, and again, go and try and find the amp out there that can do this? The Road King II can!
