It is possible to use EL34's and 6L6 tubes all at the same time! Mesa has that 'Simul-class' thing going on where both types can be used together in this amp. I have to say that the Road King II is probably one of the most flexible amps I have ever used, you can set different tubes per channel even.
I sold this amp a while back but the features and switching etc. made this amp the world beater it really is. There are so many features, its one reason I sold it! But I can tell you that whatever your thoughts on this amp, channel 3 in Vintage Modern mode has basically the best lead and rhythm channel in any amp I ever used. NOTHING comes near, and trust me, I have used so many amps, the good the bad and everything in between.
